Medicare Open Enrollment Period (OEP) Update:

During our busiest time of year (October 15th -December 7th), we met with 1,421 individuals and helped them navigate the multitude of medical and prescription plan options to best meet their needs. Of those, 242 of those were new to us - they had never received Medicare counseling from us! 606 of the 1,421 people (43%) were in stand-alone drug plans. Of those, 37% switched drug plans with an average annual projected savings in 2026 of $2,266 ($879 median). For the 106 individuals who were NEW to us comparing stand-alone drug plans, 67% needed to switch plans for $1,640 average projected savings in 2026 ($1,116 median).

As we move back into our normal pace, remember we are just a phone call away with any questions or concerns.

A Moment of Relief When It Mattered Most

Mrs. K has been coming to Senior PharmAssist for about two years to receive help with her medications. This past June, she experienced a devastating house fire that resulted in significant loss. In the aftermath, our community resource specialist worked closely with her to connect her to the Red Cross and other local supports to help her begin rebuilding her life.

When Mrs. K arrived for her Medicare counseling appointment, she shared that her previous health plan was no longer meeting her needs and that she was hoping to explore other options. Together, we reviewed available plans and found one that better aligned with what she was looking for. We completed the enrollment during the appointment, and the relief on her face was immediate and unmistakable.

Before leaving, Mrs. K expressed her heartfelt gratitude for Senior PharmAssist and the support she had received—an affirmation of the impact this work has during some of life’s most challenging moments.

"After losing so much, Senior PharmAssist helped me find my footing again and reminded me I wasn’t facing everything alone."

Thank you to those who have included us in their year-end giving

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed so generously. Your support makes a meaningful difference and allows our work to continue moving forward with strength and purpose. We truly could not do this without you. So far, we’ve raised $64,465 in new, lapsed, and increased gifts (more than last year) that were applied to our Board and Fox Family Foundation challenge grant. Stunning generosity!

If you have not made a gift in 2025, please consider making a donation today. Every contribution -- no matter the size -- helps extend our reach and sustain the work. Thank you for believing in this effort and for making it possible.
