From north Durham

Distance benchmark: The Center for Senior Life is 3.2 miles from Durham Regional Hospital.

  1. Take Roxboro Street/US-501 Business South toward downtown.
  2. Turn slightly left onto Mangum Street/US-15/US-501 Business South. Remain on this road for .8 miles.
  3. Then, turn right on West Seminary Street and go for .1 miles.
  4. Turn right at the intersection of Seminary and Rigsbee Avenue and proceed up a short hill – the Durham Center for Senior Life will be on the right.
  5. Take the next right onto Hunt Street and proceed for a short distance to the upper parking lot on your right – this is the principal parking area for the Durham Center for Senior Life. The Center’s main entrance will be clearly visible.

From Greensboro

  1. Take I-40/I-85 North toward Burlington/Durham.
  2. Just beyond Mebane (at exit number 163), I-85 North will split with I-40 East. Bear to the left and remain on I-85 North.
  3. Take I-85 North to the NC-147 South exit (exit number 172) toward Durham/Downtown. Merge onto NC-147 South.
  4. Take the Roxboro Street Exit (exit number 12) and go to the second light. Take a left onto South Roxboro Street. Then you will pass through Jackie Robinson Drive and a light there.
  5. Going up the hill, stay in the left lane and pass Pettigrew St. (1st light) and Main St. (2nd light). You will pass a 3rd light at Liberty Street and, shortly thereafter, will need to take a left onto Holloway Street (4th light). This will quickly merge onto Morgan Street.
  6. From Morgan turn right at the second light onto Rigsbee Avenue (McDonald’s is on the right).
  7. After turning onto Rigsbee Avenue, you will pass Seminary Street and proceed up a short hill – the Durham Center for Senior Life will be on the right.
  8. Take the next right onto Hunt Street and proceed for a short distance to the upper parking lot on your right – this is the principal parking area for the Durham Center for Senior Life. The Center’s main entrance will be clearly visible.

From Raleigh

  1. Take I-40 West towards Durham/Chapel Hill.
  2. Take the NC-147 North exit (exit number 279B) toward Durham/Downtown.
  3. Merge onto NC-147 North for approximately eight miles.
  4. Take the Roxboro Street exit (exit number 12-B) and get immediately in the right-hand lane. Take a right onto Roxboro Street.
  5. Going up the hill, get in the far left lane and pass Pettigrew St. (1st light) and Main St. (2nd light). You will pass a 3rd light at Liberty Street and, shortly thereafter, will need to take a left onto Holloway Street (4th light). This will quickly merge onto Morgan Street.

From Chapel Hill

  1. Take the 15-501 by-pass North toward Durham and stay on the by-pass by bearing right at the split with 15-501 business, just before the former site of South Square Mall.
  2. Continue North on the by-pass and just after the exit for Morreene Road, take the exit for NC-147 South (exit number 108B, Downtown). YOU WILL NEED TO BEAR TO THE RIGHT OFF OF EXIT 108B TO ACCESS NC-147 SOUTH.
